About the event
Cynthia “Cindy” Mae Kirk, 73, beloved mom, grandma and gigi, of Rossford, Ohio passed away January 1, 2024 at the Toledo Hospital from injuries she sustained in a car accident on December 23rd, 2023. She was born in Toledo on April 17, 1950 to Ralph R. and Chloe L. (White) Case. Cindy married the love of her life, Thomas (Tom) C. Kirk and together they raised their two children.
Cindy had a huge heart and had a passion for helping people. She did social work all her life and made an unmeasurable impact on countless people. She was a voice and advocate for children, elders, veterans and the homeless. She started Cindy’s Corner Café at St. Lucas Lutheran Church which has now grown to a total of 3 (St. Lucas, St. Paul’s & St. Johns). She made sure to roll out the red carpet for the ones in need, making them all feel special, loved, and cared for with dignity. She saw the good in everyone and gave them everything she could. She also helped with the Children’s Sunday School program at St. Lucas.
Cindy was a CASA for Wood County to be able to be an advocate for children. Her giving never ended, she would collect food from restaurants and take that along with gifts of warm clothing and other essentials all over the downtown Toledo area for the homeless. Her hard work and dedication did not go unnoticed, and she was a Jefferson Award Nominee.
Cindy was a faithful member of St. Lucas Lutheran Church. She enjoyed life to the fullest and loved spending time with her family and friends, she also enjoyed riding her trike and celebrating the holidays. Cindy will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and meet her.
Cindy leaves behind to mourn her daughter Tammy (Scott) Roberts, Son Rich (Lisa) Kirk, her grandchildren, the greatest joys in her life, Kyle (McKenzie) and Ryan(Emma) Roberts, Corbin (Katie), Chase (Alyssa) and Savannah Kirk and great grandchildren, Macie Roberts, Hudson Roberts, Macy & Lily Turpening. Also surviving are brother David (Alicia) Case and Sister, Sister Deana Case, along with numerous niece, nephews & a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Tom and her parents, Ralph and Chloe Case and brother Rick Case.
The family would like to give special thanks to The Toledo Hospital Trauma Care Team, Critical Care Team, the entire SICU staff and Dr. Griffith for the fighting chance you gave her and for not giving up along with providing care and compassion to not only her but also our family.
Friends and family will be received at Sujkowski Walker Funeral Home, 830 Lime City Rd, Rossford, Ohio 43460 on Friday, January 5, 2024 from 2:00 PM-8:00 PM.
