Cindy's Corner Cafe at St. Lucas Lutheran Church is a free community lunch ministry built on grace, gathering, and generosity. Rooted in the Lutheran belief that grace is freely given, Cindy's Corner Cafe offers a warm meal and a welcoming table to all who come through the door —
no cost, no questions, just a place to belong.
It's more than a meal; it's a chance to sit together,
share fellowship, and experience the generosity of a community that cares.

The “Featured Servant at the Café” where we introduce the workers who make the Café meals and help serve them! Please let these folks know that you appreciate their efforts!
We are also pleased to announce a new Café partnership with Aspiring Hands and Site Manager, April Andrus.
If you have been in the Café on a recent Friday, you may have noticed some new faces helping out with general assistance, dish washing, sweeping/mopping the floors, wiping tables and clean-up. These are our new friends from Aspiring Hands (AH), a private company, owned by Bryon Schaefer. The Acts talked with April Andrus who shared that AH clients are referred from the Lucas County Board of Developmental Disabilities with the goal of the clients (age 18 and older) receiving training in work skills, social skills, and in providing service to the community. Ms. Andrus said that she is just one site manager for 20 different sites and that her clients work at other places such as the Humane Society, the Cherry Street Mission, food pantries, nursing homes and the Toledo Zoo!

2. What is your favorite part of serving in the Café? Helping with food, clean-up, and serving food to the guests
3. What is your primary job in the Café? Prep Cook, food server, clean-up, and etc.
4. How long have you served in the Café? Two years
5. Please share some little known facts about yourself (family, hobbies, pets, favorite TV shows, favorite movies, favorite foods, favorite music, favorite place you have visited, etc.): I have two daughters & five grandkids! I collect store bags that you buy from different stores. No pets or TV shows. I do watch favorite movies on YouTube
6. How often do you serve in the Café? I serve four days a week (Tuesday through Friday)
7. What are some of your favorite Café meals/meals that are served in the Café? Everything
8. Anything else you would like to share? I’m just glad that I can be part of Cindy’s Corner Café!
